Rank exam requirements

You will be asked to perform the following.

• Karate-ka choice of Empi, Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai, Jion, Tekki Nidan, Tekki Sandan, Hangestu, Gankaku, or Jitte
• Judge's choice of Empi, Bassai Dai, Kanku Dai, Jion, or Tekki Nidan

• Step forward double punch - shift recover - punch right then left
• Step back rising block - same arm outside block - back fist - reverse punch - advance forward with rear leg front kick
• Step in upward elbow strike - reverse middle level elbow strike - side elbow strike - then spin side elbow strike both directions
• Front kick front leg then rear leg - side kick both sides while advancing forward - finish with punch combination of choice
• Knife hand - front kick - ridge hand strike - change legs - knife hand throat - short punch
• Combination: Triple kick advancing forward - Front, roundhouse, and back thrust kicks
• Side kicks from kiba-dachi stance then from free style stance
